Lehman netters fourth at Schroeder Invitational

TIPP CITY — The Lehman Catholic tennis team finished fourth in the Schroeder Invitational Saturday, while Piqua finished seventh.

“It was a great day for us,” Lehman coach Tim Ungericht said. “It is the best any team I have coached has done in this tournament.”

Lehman was led by Grififn West’s second-place finish at first singles.

He defeated Kenton Ridge 8-2 and St. Marys 8-3, before losing to Phillip Brumbaugh of Milton-Union 8-2.

At second singles, Sam Ritze finished third.

He defeated Kenton Ridge 8-0, lost to Milton-Union 8-1 and defeated Tippecanoe 8-0.

Michael Wesner finished fourth at third singles.

He defeated Kenton Ridge 8-0, before losing to Celina 8-0 and Milton-Union 8-2.

At first doubles, Ryan Goettemoeller and Danny Lins finished fourth.

They defeated Tippecanoe 8-5, before losing to Northwestern 8-5 and St. Marys 8-5.

At second doubles, Sean Toner and Elias Bezy finished seventh.

They lost to Northwestern 8-2 and Tippecanoe 8-5, before defeating Piqua 8-1.

Piqua was led by Sean Hatke’s fifth-place finish at first singles.

He lost to St. Marys 8-3, before defeating Kenton Ridge 9-7 and Tippecanoe 9-7.

At second singles, Brad McPherson finished seventh.

He lost to Tippecanoe 8-6 and St. Marys 8-1, before defeating Kenton Ridge 8-1.

At third singles, Isaiah Smith finished seventh.

He lost to Milton-Union 8-0 and Tippecanoe 8-4, before defeating Kenton Ridge 8-1.

At first doubles, Greg Reyes and Eli Bloom finished eighth.

They lost to Northwestern 8-1, Tippecanoe 8-0 and Kenton Ridge 8-0.

At second doubles, Willis Young and Kate Dulder finished eighth.

They lost to St. Marys 8-1, Kenton Ridge 8-2 and Lehman 8-1.
