Three players were honored on the girls basketball All-Ohio teams released this week.

Versailles junior Kami McEldowney was named to the second team on the Division III team, while in Division IV, Russia’s Maria Herron was named to the third team and Covington’s Sammi Whiteman was named honorable mention.

McEldowney, a three-year starter for the Tigers, helped Versailles to its second Final Four in three years. The Tigers, 25-3, play Winchester Brown in the D-III state semifinals at 3 p.m. Friday.

The 5-foot-7 guard averaged 13.6 points per game this season.

Herron, a 5-7 senior guard, helped Russia to its second D-IV district title in three years.

She averaged 13.4 points for the Lady Raiders, who finished 21-6 on the season.

Whiteman, a 5-5 sophomore, ran the Covington offense, while averaging 18.7 points per game.

She led Covington to a D-IV district final and helped the Lady Buccs finish 20-6 on the season.
