To the Editor:
I am writing this letter in support of two two very qualified and dedicated gentlemen who are running for Miami County Sheriff and Miami County Prosecutor of Miami County.
Chief Deputy Sheriff David Duchak, candidate for Miami County Sheriff, sarted with the sheriff’s department in 1990. He advanced through the ranks of deputy, detective, sergeant, lieutenant, captain and chief deputy.
He has worked with retiring Sheriff Charles Cox to improve the Miami County Sheriff’s Office to where it is today, “One of the best in Ohio.”
Miami County Prosecutor Anthony Kendell, running for re-election for Miami County prosecuting attorney, was hired in 1993 by current Appellate Court Judge Jeffrey M. Welbaum, who was the county prosecutor at that time.
Continued as first assistant prosecutor under Gary Nasal, who was county prosecutor until 2012. He was unanimously appointed by the Miami County Republican Central Committee as Miami County Prosecutor to replace Gary Nasal (who was appointed to the Municipal Court).
He was elected by Miami County Citizens in 2014 to fill the unexpired term.
Has an excellent record in prosecuting felony criminal cases, working with other elected officials and their departments.
I have served Miami County for 40 years as the clerk of courts (and will continue to serve as your clerk of courts), nine years as mayor of Bradford, 50 years (25 as chief) of Bradford Fire & Rescue, as well as three years in the U.S. Army 101ST Airborne as a paratrooper.
I sincerely believe that my 40 years’ experience as Miami County Clerk of Courts, working daily with the sheriff’s and prosecutor’s offices gives me a first-hand look at the candidates who are running for sheriff and prosecutor.
Two names stand out above the rest: David Duchak for sheriff and Anthony Kendell for prosecutor.
Thank you for all of your support for the last 40 years. I am again asking for your support now.
I ask each of you to join me in voting for David Duchak for Miami County Sheriff and vote to re-elect Anthony Kendell for Miami County Prosecuting Attorney.
Miami County Clerk of Courts
