Since the beginning of abortion rulings, there have been problems meeting ends with pro-choice and pro-life advocates. Women since the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court case have been fighting for the right to choose whether they want to continue their pregnancy.
Although pro-choice supporters claim the government should not be able to deny women the reproductive right to choose, it can put limitations on abortion and when the life of the fetus should be protected. As for all individuals, there are rights protected by the constitution that protects life once conceived. The 14th amendment of our constitution protects life by ensuring that all persons are granted the right to life, liberty, and property. This statement insists that once a fetus is considered living or “viable,” its opportunity to life, liberty, or property shall not be infringed. Today women are using abortions as a backup birth control method, and the government needs to find a way to protect the life our unborn children.
We as the United States of America despise the Islamic religion and ideas based on its beliefs. We criticize and destroy every aspect created in the ruling of the countries occupied by the Islamic religion. In the abortion topic and its laws involved, the Islamic ways of abortions are much further advanced and have a better understanding of how to handle its leading issues. The question asked is where do the rights of both sides become equally represented? According to Ibrahim Syed, countries ruled by the Islamic religion allow women to prevent pregnancy using birth control and the morning after pill in case of emergency. Abortions are strictly prohibited except in cases of rape, incest, or if the mother’s life is threatened. Our government in the United States should follow this idea and put stricter limitations on abortion procedures.
A woman should never be given the right by the government to end the life of the fetus when she undeniably created it. Some women state that a fetus is just another part of the human body as a kidney or a lung, but according to Rob Schwartzwalder and his research, a human zygote has its own unique DNA which is different than any other human being.
In 2017, there are no explanations why women should become pregnant if they do not wish to. There are options for women in America to prevent unwanted or unexpected pregnancies. The government allowing women to decide when or if life should continue, gives them power which only God should be in control of. No person should be able to end a human life once considered viable.
Allowing people the right to commit harsh decisions ending the life of our children needs to come to a halt.
When the government limits the use of abortions and protects the life of the fetus it will create a line of agreement between pro-choice and pro-life advocates. This idea on the abortion topic will continue to grant women the opportunity to decide when they want to become pregnant, but will also protect the rights of the fetus.
Until the government puts this method in play, there will be a continuous debate arguing when the rights of the mother end and the rights of the fetus begin.
