Tippecanoe High School, 615 E. Kessler-Cowlesville Rd., Tipp City — No violations at time of inspection.
Troy Country Club, 1830 Peters Rd., Troy — Repeat observation: employee drink sitting in food prep area. Repeat observation: ice scoop hung on wall without anything to catch the water. Observed damp rag sitting on top of cutting board. Observed tool box with miscellaneous items being stored directly on top of prep cooler. Critical violation: observed artichoke dip in prep cooler that was older than the seven day mark, it was disposed. Observed two microwaves in the food prep area that are not commercial. Repeat observation: food residual build-up found on oven handle. Observed no sanitizer levels in the sanitation buckets in the food prep area. Observed leak coming from head of faucet and handle above three-compartment sink. Observed no hand washing signs at the hand washing sinks.
UTC Aerospace, 101 Waco St., Troy — Critical violation: Critical violation: person-in-charge did not ensure that employees are informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report information about their health. Critical violation: observed ham lunch meat that was not properly protected from contamination by separation, packaging, and segregation. Raw chicken in bag laying on bag of ham, corrected during inspection. Observed food in boxes placed on wet asphalt outside walk-in cooler during delivery. Critical violation: observed packaged products, labeled on site, with missing and/or incomplete allergen declarations.
Bethel Local Elem Midddle School, 7490 state Route 201, Tipp City — Observed broken seal leading to large accumulation of ice within walk-in freezer. Observed leak on faucet above hand washing sink. Repeat observation: the surfaces of cutting boards on both salad prep cooler and food prep cooler near prep sink were heavily scoured. Observed food residual build-up on the handles of the microwaves.
Bethel Local High School, 7490 state Route 201, Tipp City — No violations observed during inspection.
Tippecanoe Middle School, 555 N. Hyatt, Tipp City — Observed improper draining of condensation liquid in walk-in freezer, ice is accumulating on pipe. Observed broken and missing pieces of tile by the steam kettle that is across from the three-compartment sink and next to the prep sink.
Troy High School, 151 W. Staunton Rd., Troy — No violations observed at time of inspection. The chemical room ceiling has been repainted, so the previous inspection issue has been resolved. Keep up the good work.
Little York Tavern, 116-118 W. Main St., Troy — Observed employee drink sitting within bar area. Ice scoop was stored improperly on top of ice machine, corrected during inspection. Critical violation: observed residual inside of the drink gun nozzle behind bar. Observed no towels or hand drying device at a hand washing sink behind bar. Observed no hand washing sign posted at the hand washing sinks, in the food prep area or behind the bar. Observed two open holes in the wall behind reach-in cooler and freezer that need to be sealed properly. Observed tiles being pushed upwards and residual and water getting underneath the tile under the three compartment sink.
Miami County Incarceration Facility, 2042 N. County Road 25-A, Troy — Observed dented cans in dry stock, corrected during inspection. Observed ice scoop being stored on top of ice machine. Critical violation: observed working container of glass cleaner that was not labeled, corrected during inspection.
Patty’s IGA, 106 E. Main Street, Bradford — There is no test kit available for measuring the concentration of the sanitizer in deli area. Observed ice accumulation on the fan unit in the walk-in freezer back in storage area. Observed dust gathering on cover of ventilation fan in walk-in cooler in deli area. Observed food residuals on handles of the oven in the deli area. Observed a build-up of grease on vent hood above oven in deli area. Observed a build-up of dirt and debris underneath storage racks in back storage area.
Sam & Ethel’s, 120 E. Main St., Tipp City — Repeat observation: boxes of food stored on the floor of the walk-in cooler and walk-in freezer. Critical violation: observed built-up food residual on top interior portion of microwaves. Observed dish racks that have a black residual build-up and are not able to be thoroughly cleaned, as well as build-up on prep cooler doors and food debris in the bottom of the prep cooler. Observed no hand washing signs posted at hand washing sinks in restrooms to be used by employees. Observed a black residual build-up on caulking around the dishwashing machine and on FRP wall behind the dishwasher and below equipment. Observed a build-up of dirt and debris along floors and underneath equipment throughout the facility. Observed a build-up of dust and debris on shelving in the kitchen.
The Hershey Bar & Grill, 118 E. Main St., Bradford —Repeat observation: observed Pepsi cooler in kitchen area off of hallway that is being used to store food items, this equipment is not approved by a recognized testing agency. Repeat observation: white residential chest freezer being used, equipment is not approved by a recognized testing agency. Observed food being stored in walk-in beer/beverage cooler that is not approved by a recognized testing agency for the storage of food items. Repeat observation: hood system in kitchen has built-up grease and dust. Other issues from previous inspection (Oct. 4, 2016) have been resolved. Back storage room has been cleaned and organized.
Troy Junior High School, 556 N. Adams St., Troy — No violations at time of inspection. Keep up the good work.
Indians Pizza, 212 N. Main St., Pleasant Hill — Critical violation: observed residual on the ice shoot on drink machine, observed mold residual inside of the ice machine. Handles of equipment had residual on them.
Miami County Jail, 201 W. Main St., Troy — In-use utensils are improperly stored. Observed ice scoop being stored on top of the ice machine.
Pearson House Restaurant, 28 N. Miami St., West Milton — Repeat observation: food stored in packaging that does not appear to protect it from contamination. Observed dented cans in the back storage area. Observed ice scoop being stored incorrectly on top of soda box and also laying flat on top of equipment in waitress station. Repeat observation: muffins stored in a non-food grade containers inside reach-in coolers. Critical violation: observed residual on the back of the slicer blade, corrected during inspecion. Repeat observation: food residual build-up on the blades of the bread slicer. Repeat observation: residual build-up on the top of the microwave on the inside. Observed very low concentration of chlorine in the sanitizing bucket in the food area and the waitress station. Observed no hand washing sign(s) posted at hand washlng sink(s) used by employees.
