TROY — A Sidney man who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and her 10-month-old child and then fled the scene in a stolen car has finally been captured after being on the lam since late March.

Kyle M. Crull, 23, was arraigned in municipal court Thursday morning on charges of felonious assault, assault and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

He remains behind bars at the Miami County Jail on a combined $145,000 bond. A pretrial conference has been scheduled for May 21.

Crull mocked local law enforcement’s attempts to capture him in the aftermath of his alleged crime by taking to social media networking sites.

But Crull’s own words came back to haunt him and Piqua detectives arrested the fugitive Wednesday in Indiana without incident.

Authorities claim Crull assaulted the woman and her infant girl March 24 at 1027 Park Ave. during a domestic dispute that ended in violence.

According to police reports, the victim claimed Crull “repeatedly punched” her in the face while she “was holding her child,” and then stuck the infant in the face, too.

Both victims were transported to the Upper Valley Medical Center for treatment of injuries and were later treated and released.

“I am a loser for beating her,” Crull wrote in one of hundreds of comments he made on one social networking site. “I never touched that baby.”
