The Piqua High School Softball Camp will be held Saturday at the high school field (located behind the Piqua Junior High School). The camp for ages 8-10 will be held from 9-11 a.m.; the camp for ages 11-13 will be held 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost is $10, due at the time of registration. The camp will teach softball fundamentals. Campers should bring a glove, bat, drink and any other necessary equipment. The camp will be run by coaches Rick Claprood, Eric Blankenship, Greg Gordon and Piqua High School players.

The Northern Miami Valley Elite (17-under) baseball club will be holding tryouts for the 2015 season this Sunday, July 27, and Sunday, Aug. 10. The tryouts will be held at Hardman Field in Piqua from 4-6 p.m.. The Troy Post 43 legion baseball team will host tryouts at 6 p.m. July 28 and 29 at Legion Field in Duke Park in Troy. Post 43 has a 47-year tradition of helping talented baseball players with a desire to play at the next level by providing exposure against the best competition in Ohio, the Midwest and nationally. This year, the team has competed in Omaha, Neb., and Athens, Tenn., as well as playing in the Connie Mack Sate Tournament, the NABF World Series and the State American Legion Tournament. The team is coached by Frosty Brown, who has won more than 2,200 games at the college, high school and legion levels, supervises winter instruction. The mandatory OHSAA parents and athletes meeting at Lehman High School will be held on July 28.
The meeting will be at 8 p.m. in the Wayne Spoltman Gym.
All students who are participating in fall sport must attend this meeting along with a legal guardian.
The Piqua High School girls basketball program will hold their annual golf outing at Echo Hills Golf Course on Aug. 2.
There is a 12:30 p.m. check-in and 1 p.m. shotgun start.
Cost is $50 per player with foursomes needed.
