To the Editor:
Fellow residents, I am writing to declare my support of the permanent improvement levy scheduled for the May 6 ballot. This levy has benefited our school district in a variety of ways, allowing for the purchase of new buses in addition to major building, maintenance and renovation projects. The levy has served us well since it was originally passed in 1994, allowing our school district to set high standards of excellence. Our support of this levy will only ensure even higher standards of quality education for future students.
After moving to the area from Pennsylvania, we were concerned about how our three children would adjust to a new school system. After two years at Piqua City Schools, we could not be more pleased with the level of care our children receive from the faculty and staff. We find faculty and staff going the extra mile to maintain high academic standards. We are certainly excited about the new building projects and believe this will propel our school district into an even brighter future. However, a strong school district requires even stronger community involvement and support. The permanent improvement levy is one small way we can support our schools and those who will serve as future leaders. Supporting this levy will not increase your taxes but will continue the quality education our school currently provides for generations to come.
Please join me in supporting the permanent improvement levy on May 6, and in so doing, stand with fellow residents for a brighter future for Piqua and beyond.
