PIQUA — Bids are in and a decision on contracting for the County Road 25-A street resurfacing project from Riverside Drive south to Statler Avenue will be brought before commissioners at Tuesday’s commission meeting. The project will include new asphalt, roadway base repairs, adjustment of water valves and manholes, catch basin repairs or replacements, and installation of ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant handicap ramps, according to the meeting agenda.
A grant from the Miami Valley (MVRPC) will cover 75 percent of the construction cost or up to $561,000, with the city responsible for $202,000 of the $763,000 total (including 15 percent contingency for work that may be required but not included in original plans) for the project.
Commission will also discuss rescinding a resolution from 2012 and enacting a new with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) in regards to paving State Route 185 from Covington Ave. to Park Ave.
Topping the evening agenda will be three proclamations in regard to Kids to Park Day, National Bike Month and Bike to Work Week and National Police Week.
Commission meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. every first and third Tuesday of the month, on the second floor of the Government Municipal Complex, in the commission chamber. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
