TROY — Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County is offering a new series of Caregiver Connection programs to support home caregivers.

• A safe place to ask questions and speak openly about the challenges caregivers face.

• An encouraging and confidential atmosphere.

Anyone responsible for the care of another person or who might be feeling overwhelmed by the challenges of care giving is invited to attend.

“Caregiver Connection” will be held from 2-3 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 2899 W. Main St., Troy, on the followings dates: July 13 and 27, Aug. 10 and 24 and Sept. 14 and 28.

Each class will run two nights, and the dates for the classes are July 11 and 13, and July 18 and 20. The classes will run from 7:30-8:30 p.m. each night. These classes are designed for beginning kayakers who want to learn the basics of the sport.

The classes will be taught by Jeff Lange, a local kayaking enthusiast, who is also a certified kayak instructor with the American Canoe Association.

Kayaking is a very popular and fun water sport that individuals can easily learn and do. There are many opportunities for renting a kayak around the Dayton area, as well as many waterways to go kayaking on.
