MIAMI COUNTY — The Miami County Commissioners approved several purchases and agreements at their meeting on Tuesday.
The commissioners approved the purchase of a new ethernet processor for the Sanitary Engineering Department’s SCADA system at a cost not to exceed $3,793.
A power outage over the weekend caused the ethernet to malfunction, creating an emergency situation for the Sanitary Engineering Department, which uses the system to control lift station functions.
The system also provides real time visuals of the lift stations and serves as an emergency dialer to alert the department to any issues.
The commissioners also signed a change order adding a foundation redesign to the county transfer station project. The cost of the project now includes an additional $13,246 for the revision, making the revised contract $493,385.
The board also authorized the purchase of a 2016 GMC Sierra pickup truck for the Sanitary Engineering Department under state contract. The cost of the vehicle is not to exceed $37,805.
The commissioners approved an agreement with Dr. William Ginn to provide medical services to the juveniles at the David L. Brown Youth Center. The cost is $8,400 per year, paid in monthly installments of $700.
