Piqua police reports highlights


PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports.

ACCIDENT: There was a report of a traffic crash on in the area of East Ash Street and the Interstate-75 southbound ramp on Nov. 22 at approximately 10 a.m. There were no reported injuries.

There was a two-vehicle accident on West Water Street on Nov. 22 at 1:35 p.m. A driver was cited.

A driver was cited for an improper left turn after a report of a traffic crash in the area of North Main Street and Riverside Drive on Nov. 22 at approximately 6:20 p.m.

There was a two-vehicle accident in the area of South Street and McKinley Avenue on Nov. 23 at 11:20 a.m. There were no reported injuries. A traffic citation was issued in reference to a red light violation.

THEFT: There was a report of three to five male subjects scamming two other individuals of $1,000 by playing a card game on Scott Drive on Nov. 22 at approximately 4:15 p.m. The investigation is pending.

There was a report of money being stolen from a customer at Rue 21 on East Ash Street while the customer was in the dressing room when she was trying on clothes. The incident was originally reported as a disorderly customer at Rue 21 on Nov. 22 at 5:40 p.m.

A cell phone was reported stolen from Pet Valu on East Ash Street on Nov. 22 at 6:50 p.m.

Three male juveniles reportedly stole alcohol from Kroger on Nov. 22 at 11:20 p.m.

A cell phone was reported stolen on North Wayne Street on Nov. 23 at 1:50 a.m.

TRESPASSING: A complainant stated a juvenile came to her residence to fight her daughter on South Downing Street on Nov. 22 at 7:20 p.m. The complainant wanted juvenile warned for trespassing.

TELEPHONE HARASSMENT: A complainant reported on Nov. 22 that she received 81 unwanted phone calls from her ex-boyfriend. The male subject lives in Dayton and wouldn’t talk to an officer. He will be charged with telephone harassment. Officer will request a warrant for the male’s arrest. Qion D. Kirkland, 24, of Dayton, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor telecommunications harassment in connection with this incident.

DRUG OVERDOSE: There was a report of an unresponsive male subject on Brook Street on Nov. 23 at approximately 1:50 a.m. It was a possible overdose. Quentin B. Carter, 34, of Piqua, was charged with second-degree misdemeanor possession of a drug abuse instrument in connection with this incident.

ABDUCTION: A victim was reportedly punched in the face at a residence on East Water Street on Nov. 23 at approximately 2 a.m. The assailant then reportedly threatened to kill the victim, who was known to the assailant. The assailant then allegedly held the victim in the house for several hours and would not allow the victim to leave with the victim’s kids. Daniel T. Orndorff, 22, of Piqua, was charged with third-degree felony abduction and fifth-degree felony domestic violence in addition to three counts of fourth-degree misdemeanor domestic violence in connection with this incident. Orndorff is currently being held at the Miami County Jail on a total bond of $64,500.

DISTURBANCE: An officer was dispatched to a disturbance complaint in reference to several female subjects reportedly attempting to fight the complainant on Camaro Court on Nov. 23 at 2:50 a.m.

WARRANT: Anthony S. Greer, 35, of Fairborn, was picked up on a warrant from the Fairborn jail and taken to the Miami County Jail on first-degree misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor vehicle on Nov. 23.
