MIAMI COUNTY — The Miami County Commissioners accepted a quote on Tuesday for work performed on an emergency basis at the Hobart Center for Government earlier this month.

The company that performed the replacement of a domestic water heater at the center on Oct. 5 and 6 submitted a quote for $9,314 for the installation of the new unit.

The unit failed on Oct. 5, and was determined to be beyond repair.

The board also approved the purchase of a new Kodak scanner, which is used by the county’s Microfilm Department to scan and prepare microfilm for archiving.

The county has accepted a quote for $2,661 from Endicott Microfilm, which is higher than the only other quote submitted. The county recorder requested awarding the purchase to Endicott because of its close location in Cincinnati. Endicott has also provided the Microfilm Department with procedural advice and information in the past.
