SIDNEY — Lehman Catholic High School will welcome alumni, family and friends back to campus during homecoming weekend Sept. 21-24.
The festivities begin Thursday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. at the newly renovated LCHS soccer field with guest speaker, Judge William R. Zimmerman, Former sssistant LCHS football coach followed by a blessing of the soccer field by Father Langenkamp. The evening ends with the traditional bon fire and pep rally starting at 8:45 p.m.
On Friday, Sept. 22 Lehman alumni, family and friends are invited to a pre-game gathering hosted by the Lehman Alumni Association beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the LCHS Tennis Courts. The homecoming parade begins at 6:15 p.m. The parade will feature each class at Lehman, Principal/CEO Denise Stauffer, Executive Director Missy Bennett, Homecoming Grand Marshall Teresa Haller, and the homecoming king and queen candidates.
This year’s grand marshall, selected by the senior class is Teresa Haller. Haller holds degrees from Parkview Methodist School of Nursing and Purdue University in Fort Wayne. Before coming to Lehman Catholic in 2012, she worked as a Registered Nurse in various settings — Intensive Care, Emergency Services, Cardiology, Dialysis, and Home Health. Haller and husband Cameron are the parents to Jacob, a 2013 Lehman graduate; Collin, a Lehman senior; and Abbi, a Lehman sophomore. As well, they are host parents to Claudia, Lehman junior. Haller is the administrative assistant to the principal/CEO.
Each member of the Homecoming Court will be introduced during pre-game ceremonies followed by crowning of the queen and king.
The 2017 senior queen candidates are Maria Adams, daughter of John and Tara Adams of Sidney; Camille Brown, daughter of Clayton and Kim Brown of Piqua; Abigail Jones, daughter of Brad and Kelly Jones of Conover; Madeline McFarland, daughter of Ed and Jill McFarland of Piqua; Brogan McIver, daughter of Brenda and the late Bill McIver of Sidney; Alanna O’Leary, daughter of Rob and Rose O’Leary of Piqua; and Clare Schmiesing, daughter of Greg and Christina Schmiesing of Sidney.
The 2017 senior king candidates are Brandon Barhorst, son of Kurt and Connie Barhorst of Sidney; Jacob Emrick, son of Jeff and Julie Emrick of Sidney; Tyler Lachey, son of Joe and Shannon Lachey in Sidney; Kameron Lee, son of Kris and Peg Lee of Piqua; Preston Rodgers, son of Diana Rodgers of Sidney and Kurt Rodgers of Fort Loramie; Griffin West, son of Scott and Amy West of Sidney; and Samuel Young son of Dave and Sherry Young of Sidney.
After the parade, the alumni band will join the student band for pre-game followed by the National Anthem performed by Lehman graduate, Marc Gilardi. The football game between LCHS and Elgin High School begins at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, Sept. 23 is the Homecoming Dance at 8:30 p.m. This year’s theme is NASCAR.
The weekend will conclude with Mass at 11 a.m. in The Schlater Gym with Father Earl Fernandes as the celebrant and LCHS Alumni Choir. Mass will be followed by a dedication and blessing of the Outdoor Stations of the Cross.
