PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Subjects were arguing in front of a residence on East North Street on Aug. 11 at 4 p.m. Subjects were warned several times, and one person reportedly attempted to start a physical fight with another subject while an officer was on the scene. Two subjects were arrested for disorderly conduct. One subject was also charged with obstructing for not providing his name to officers after being arrested. Eric W. Lindsey, 30, of Piqua, was charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor disorderly conduct and Chanstin L. Lowery, 20, of Piqua, was charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor disorderly conduct and first-degree misdemeanor obstructing official business in connection with this incident.
Several people were arguing outside of Mulligan’s Pub on Aug. 11 at 10:50 p.m. They were warned for disorderly conduct.
THEFT: There was a theft reported from Ulbrich’s Market on Aug. 11 at approximately 4:20 p.m. An officer located the suspect and found additional stolen property as well as drug paraphernalia, tobacco, and an unknown substance that was sent to the crime lab for analysis. The juvenile suspect will be charged accordingly.
Items were taken from an unlocked vehicle on Chevy Lane overnight between Aug. 10-11.
A woman was witnessed going through someone else’s vehicle at the Red Carpet Inn on Aug. 12 at 1:30 a.m.
Walmart reported a theft on Aug. 13 at 5:20 p.m. Barbara K. Curtis, 62, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft in connection with this incident.
ASSAULT: A subject reported getting punched in the face by a neighbor on Garnsey Street on Aug. 11 at 10 p.m.
A juvenile complainant advised she was assaulted by an adult female on Covington Avenue on Aug. 11 at 10:15 p.m. The juvenile claimed she was not injured nor did she have any marks from the altercation. Other female denied anything physical occurring. No witnesses were available, and both subjects were warned for disorderly conduct.
SUSPICIOUS: There was a report of shots fired near Kroger on Covington Avenue on Aug. 12 at 2:10 a.m. Nothing was located.
ANIMAL PROBLEM: An officer was dispatched to an assist squad call at the Baymont Inn in reference to a male subject getting bit by a dog on Aug. 12 at 8:50 p.m. The male was transported to UVMC for further treatment, and the owner of the dog, reportedly a male juvenile, was charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor permitting dogs to bite.
ORDER VIOLATION: Fonzie L. Jones, 36, of Piqua, was charged with violating a protection order, a first-degree misdemeanor, in connection with a reported incident on South Main Street on Aug. 13 at 11:50 a.m.
