PIQUA — Grace United Methodist Church (UMC) is bringing women closer to God by bringing them closer to author, Bible teacher, and popular Christian speaker Beth Moore. Grace UMC will be hosting a Living Proof event at their church, simulcasting Moore as she speaks from the live event in Kansas.

The event is meant to challenge and encourage women to grow deeply in their faith. There will be 250,000 women around the world expected to participate in this live, global, Internet streaming event. Living Proof Ministries first streamed their Living Proof Live event in 2003 in an effort to reach more women.

Living Proof Ministries holds approximately 12 Living Proof Live events a year. While they travel to various cities, there are still women who are not able to make it to a Living Proof Live event. According to Living Proof Ministries, “Our hope is that the simulcast unites churches in a community, strengthens relationships among women in each church, reaches lost women, and helps women to know God and His word more deeply than they did when they arrived.”

Moore has authored numerous published Bible studies, books, and devotionals specifically for women for nearly two decades. Moore’s organization, Living Proof Ministries, is based out of Houston.

Participation in this Living Proof Live event is part of Grace UMC’s women’s ministry.

“When women connect with each other, they can encourage each other, they can grow deeper in their faith,” Patricia Deaton, Grace UMC’s Women’s Ministry Coordinator, said. According to Deaton, their focus is to connect women in relationship to each other, in relationship to Jesus Christ, and to serving others.

“Women have so many challenges that we need to walk our faith journey together,” Deaton said. “Together, we can encourage and grow each other.”

The Living Proof Live Simulcast kicks off on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m. and ends at 5:15 p.m. Tickets are $10. The event includes a light breakfast, a catered lunch from Susie’s Big Dipper, worship music, Bible teachings, sessions led by Beth Moore, and opportunities for fellowship with other women from the Piqua community.

Registration for this event closes on Sunday, Aug. 30. Women may purchase tickets at Grace UMC or True Vine Church in Piqua. Lunch choices need to be selected at the time of ticket purchase.
