PIQUA — Wright State University sophomore Hunter Vaughn, a McDonald’s restaurant employee in Piqua, recently was awarded a $2,500 McDonald’s National Employee Scholarship Award. Vaughn is among several McDonald’s restaurant employees nationwide selected to receive this honor for their outstanding employee contributions, scholastic achievements and community involvement.
“McDonald’s has provided me with numerous opportunities to learn and grow, and I’m excited to continue my college career with financial support from the scholarship awards,” Vaughn said. “I’ve enjoyed the flexible work schedule McDonald’s offers, which allowed me to work around my academic schedule and other community commitments. My experience at the Scott Family McDonald’s will serve me well beyond my employment and college classes.”
Vaughn, who joined the Scott Family McDonald’s restaurant team in August 2015, enjoys many hobbies such as sports, cookouts and cornhole when he is not at work or in class. He attends Wright State University and is expecting to receive his degree in business economics in the spring of 2020.
Benny Scott, owner/operator of the Scott Family McDonald’s, recommended Vaughn to receive this scholarship.
“Hunter is an outstanding young man and truly exemplifies the qualities of a leader, both at work and in the community,” Scott said. “He has done an exceptional job both in the restaurant and in school, using lessons from both to reach his goals.”
