PIQUA — The registration deadline for the Piqua City Open Tennis Tournament to be held over Labor Day weekend is Monday, Aug. 31. Entry forms must be received by Monday, not mailed by Monday.
Entries will be accepted for the following categories: boys singles for ages 12, 14, 16 and 18, men’s and women’s singles and doubles with events in the open division, and 35 and over, as well as men’s 50 and over, and 62 and over. There will also be mixed doubles in the open category. The 62 and over men’s doubles will be a “Golden Buckeye Blind Draw.” Those interested in playing need not have a partner; partners will be assigned. The entry fee is $12 per person for each event entered.
The tournament will be held at the Piqua Junior High Tennis Courts, featuring newly resurfaced courts. Modern restroom facilities, air conditioned hallways, shade tents and bleachers are on site. All participants will receive a tournament t-shirt. Championship and runner-up trophies will be awarded in all categories.
