PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports.

FOUND PROPERTY: A machete was found near the bike path on Riverside Drive on June 12 at 6:40 a.m. It was collected and placed into police property.

A firearm was located at a rental property on West Grant Street on June 12 at 11:50 a.m. It was turned over to police.

A bicycle was found on Adams Street on June 12.

ACCIDENT: There was a traffic crash in the area of Park Avenue and Broadway Street on June 12 at around 8:45 a.m. A driver was cited for failure to control.

There was a traffic crash involving three vehicles in the area of East Ash Street over Interstate-75 on June 12 at 10:45 a.m. One driver was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

There was a traffic crash on East Ash Street near Wendy’s on June 12 at 11:15 a.m. The at-fault driver was cited.

There was traffic crash with minor injuries reported near Walmart on June 12 at approximately 12:30 p.m. The at-fault driver was cited.

A traffic crash was reported in the area of East Water and North Main streets on June 13 at 3:20 p.m.

DISTURBANCE: A male subject from Monroe Township was arrested and incarcerated for domestic violence on Wilshire Drive on June 12 at around 9:45 a.m.

A male subject was arrested and incarcerated for domestic violence on Riverside Drive on June 12 at 11 p.m.

A disturbance was reported on Ellerman Street on June 13 at approximately 4 p.m. All parties were advised to stay away from one another. No threats of violence were reported.

THEFT: There was a report of a theft at the Piqua Water Plant on June 12 at 9:55 a.m. Steven J. Zwiebel, 38, of Piqua, was charged with fifth-degree felony burglary in connection with this incident. A summons was issued for Zwiebel.

Items were reported stolen from a storage unit at Kenridge Storage on Sherry Drive on June 12 at approximately 12:20 p.m. A possible suspect was named. The investigation is pending.

A warrant was issued for Ashley M. Mowery, 27, of Piqua for first-degree misdemeanor theft on June 14.

UNRULY: There was a report of juveniles removing a man hole cover in a yard between apartments and exploring in the storm sewer on Van Way on June 12 at around 2:15 p.m. Juveniles were located and warned.

BURGLARY: A residence on Walker Street was reported on June 12 as being broken into within the last day. The investigation is pending.

HIT SKIP ACCIDENT: An officer was dispatched to a hit skip accident in reference to a maroon vehicle striking a light pole and fleeing the scene in the area of Lambert Drive and West High Street on June 12 at 4 p.m. The suspect vehicle was later located and the registered owner was arrested for OVI.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Officers responded to a report of subjects fighting in the parking lot at the Piqua Village Apartments on Covington Avenue on June 12 at 6 p.m. A majority of the suspects were gone upon officer arrival. One male subject spoke to officers and advised this was a family dispute. The subject agreed to leave the residence and moved out while officers were on scene.

While on patrol, an officer was waved down on a report of a white male subject lying in the middle of the road on Miami Street. The officer checked the area and located the subject, and he appeared to be okay, just intoxicated. The male was warned for disorderly conduct and went inside his residence.

An officer was dispatched to a disorderly conduct complaint in reference to a male subject peeing behind someone’s house on Riverside Drive on June 13 at 4:50 p.m. The subject was later located and warned for disorderly conduct.

ASSIST: Officers responded to a report of an assist squad call for a female subject possibly overdosing on heroin on Adams Street on June 12 at 8 p.m. The subject was found to be conscious and breathing upon officer arrival. Miami County Children’s Services responded in reference to an unrelated case and a child was voluntarily removed from the home.
