Pedestrian dies in Piqua crash

PIQUA — The Piqua Police Department has released the name of the victim of Sunday night’s fatal crash between a pedestrian and a truck.

Mary L. Yeretzian, 61, of Piqua, was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Riverside Drive (State Route 66), near the intersection of North Main Street, at approximately 8:30 p.m. when she apparently stepped off the curb and into the path of the oncoming vehicle.

The vehicle struck Yeretzian and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Riverside Drive was closed to traffic for nearly two hours while Piqua police and troopers from the Piqua post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated the crash.

The driver of the vehicle has not yet been identified.

Piqua Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
