HUBER HEIGHTS – Nineteen high school seniors from the Miami Valley graduated from the Seminary program of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sunday, May 21, at the church on Shull Road in Huber Heights.

Over 100 students attended early morning seminary classes throughout the Miami Valley to study the New Testament this year. Thirteen volunteer teachers taught the classes. The curriculum of the four year program includes the Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon, and Doctrine and Covenants/Church History.

Three graduates shared their feelings about attending seminary. Among them was Jakob Groover from Piqua, who referenced a scripture from the New Testament found in James 1:5 which says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God.” Groover explained that as his faith increased by attending Seminary, he was blessed with understanding and a testimony of Jesus Christ.

Other local graduates include Neil Reed of the Piqua Ward.
