TROY — All Troy Junior High School students were evacuated and sent to the high school gymnasium after a threat was posted on a bathroom wall shortly before noon on Wednesday.
According to officials at the scene, the threat was written on a boy’s bathroom wall.
The school district sent an alert to parents stating, “Troy Junior High School students have been evacuated as a precaution, due to an anonymous threat. Students are safe and the situation is being investigated. Students are safely located in the main gym at the Troy High School. In the event students need to be picked up, parents will need to use the Market Street entrance to the high school and pick the students up from the side entrance to the gym.”
Troy Police Department and Troy Fire Department responded to the scene.
At approximately 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, TJHS Principal Dave Dilbone followed up with a One Call Now saying the law enforcement had completed their search of the building and gave the “all clear.” Dilbone then said that students had been returned to their classrooms and students would be released at the normal time.
The incident remains under investigation.
