PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports.
DRUG OFFENSE: Ricky J. Martin, 29, of Piqua, was picked up for fifth-degree felony possession of cocaine on April 19. The charge was in connection with an incident reported in November. He also had a warrant for his arrest for first-degree misdemeanor assault. Martin is currently being held at the Miami County Jail on $6,000 bond.
THEFT: A push lawn mower was reported stolen from behind a residence on North Main Street on April 19 at 10:30 p.m.
SUSPICIOUS: There was a report of someone out shooting a BB gun in the area of Gray and South streets on April 20 at 2:30 a.m. The area was checked, but nothing of note was located.
ACCIDENT: A single-vehicle traffic accident was reported in the area of Cromes Drive and Patrizio Place on April 20 at 4:20 a.m. There were no injuries reported. A citation was issued.
There was a two-vehicle crash on the East Ash Street overpass on April 20 at 1:45 p.m. Both drivers claimed to have the right-of-way from the traffic signal. The at-fault driver was not determined. No citations were issued.
There was a traffic crash on Covington Avenue near Smitty’s Bike and Lock on April 20 at 3 p.m. A driver was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
A three-vehicle accident was on Covington Avenue near Smitty’s Bike and Lock on April 20 at approximately 3:30 p.m. There were no reported injuries. A citation was issued.
There was a two-vehicle crash in the area of Forest Avenue and Maple Street on April 20 at approximately 3:40 p.m. There were no reports of injuries. The at-fault driver was cited.
There was a traffic crash in the area of North College and West High streets on April 20 at 3:50 p.m. There were no injuries reported.
BURGLARY: A home burglary was reported on East Main Street on April 20 at approximately 10:20 a.m. Money was reported stolen.
HIT SKIP ACCIDENT: There was a traffic crash reported in a parking lot on East Ash Street outside of Dunham’s Sports on April 20 at approximately 2 p.m. One of the vehicles fled the scene.
A vehicle reportedly crashed into a parked car and then left the scene on Gordon Street on April 20 at 4:30 p.m. The suspect was identified and charged.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: There was a dispute between neighbors about alleged reckless driving in alleyways reported on Second Street on April 20 at 8:30 p.m.
