MIAMI COUNTY — A Piqua woman was arrested and arraigned on four counts of intimidation of a witness last week.

On Aug. 13, Miami County Municipal Court Judge Elizabeth Gutmann set bond at $40,000 for Trishica Leighly, 37, of Piqua, who allegedly threatened two witnesses in a pending rape case in Miami County Common Pleas Court.

Leighly allegedly threatened to hurt the two witnesses if they didn’t change their story in a pending rape case.

Leighly was one of three people arrested in April for her role in the alleged kidnapping and rape of a 31 year-old Tipp City woman with Down syndrome. The alleged crime occurred in Piqua in June 2014. In that incident, Leighly was arraigned and charged with kidnapping and complicity to rape. She was released on her own recognizance. The case is pending in Miami County Common Pleas Court.

The charges were filed by Troy Police Department. Leighly remains in the Miami County Jail.

Leighly will appear for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 20.
