MIAMI COUNTY — The Miami County Commissioners approved purchases and several events at their meeting Thursday afternoon.
The board approved an agreement with an engineering firm, DLZ Ohio of Columbus, for the County Engineers Association of Ohio Special Hauling Vehicles bridge load rating project. The cost of this project will be $11,328, of which 50 percent will be reimbursed by the Ohio Department of Transportation.
The commissioners authorized the Sanitary Engineering Department to hold weekly household hazardous waste drop-off events from April through September at an annual cost not to exceed $17,500. The department will charge fees of $1 per pound to offset costs of proper disposal.
The commissioners also approved the date for the Sanitary Engineering Department’s paper shredding event. Crowe Shreeding of Richmond, Ind., will perform free shredding services for Miami County residents at the Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 6.
Residents are limited to four file boxes per individual. The event is not to cost the county more than $610.
The commissioners approved the purchase of new chairs for their hearing room from Brower Stationers of Troy.
The total amount is not to exceed $6,735, including delivery and assembly, for three high-back vinyl chairs and eight mid-back fabric chairs.
Several other quotes were received, but Brower Stationers were the only vendor able to supply the mid-back chairs in the chosen custom fabric.
