PIQUA — Downtown Piqua’s planters have a new look.

The pink petunias in the planters were replaced last week with hardy mums. The change was made by the Mainstreet Piqua beautification

committee and the City of Piqua because the petunias had been compromised by late July’s extremely hot temperatures.

The hardy mums are yellow and rust, and they will be in full bloom to provide beautiful color for the events planned for downtown for the next three months.

The plants for the downtown planters are purchased with funds donated to Friends of Mainstreet Piqua each spring. The hardy mums will remain in the planters through October.
