TROY — The Miami County Sheriff’s Office has identified a Dayton man being considered for charges in connection with the incident in which a man was left for dead at the entrance to Upper Valley Medical Center.

Virgil Corbin, 48, is believed to be involved in leaving Terry E. Sims at the entrance of Upper Valley Medical Center on Jan. 29, according to a press release. Criminal charges of reckless homicide and tampering with evidence are being considered for a grand jury indictment, according to the sheriff’s office.

Sims, 59, also of Dayton, was found lying at the entrance of the hospital by a nurse on her way to work. The nurse who found Sims attempted CPR on the man prior to him being taken into the Emergency Department, where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy was ordered for Sims. The sutopsy results, specifically toxicology results, are still pending.

The investigation will be presented to the Miami County Prosecuting Attorney for consideration for criminal charges.
