PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports.
WITNESS REQUEST: Piqua police are looking for witnesses to a crash that occurred on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at around 1:12 p.m. at W. High Street and N. Downing. The involved vehicles were a gray Toyota and a black Toyota.
Both drivers reported stopping at the stop signs before proceeding.

THEFT: There was a report of a theft from unlocked vehicles on the 300 block of E. Main Street between July 28 and July 29.
A motor vehicle was reported stolen from the 1200 block of South Street overnight between July 28 and July 29.
There was a report of money and a checkbook being stolen out of a woman’s purse that was in an unlocked car in the Nitto Denko parking lot on the 1600 block of S. Main Street. It reportedly occurred sometime between 6:20 a.m. and 2:46 p.m. on July 29.
BURGLARY: The Piqua Emery Foundry office stated that the business was entered overnight between July 28 and July 29. It is unknown if anything was taken.
A complainant claimed that his landlord “took his items illegally from his residence” on the 500 block of Park Avenue, according to police reports. It was reported on July 29 at 1 p.m.
ASSIST FIRE DEPARTMENT: Piqua police responded with the Piqua Fire Department to the 800 block of Boone Street on July 29 at 4:22 p.m. There was a report of a panic and smoke alarm going off. The fire department was able to make entry into the house via keys. There was no person and no fire found inside. Piqua police contacted the homeowner.
FOUND PROPERTY: A bicycle was found in a resident’s back yard on the 300 block of S. Wayne Street on July 29. It was taken into police property.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE: There was a report of a piece of concrete being thrown through the window of a vehicle on the 500 block of New Street on July 29 at 7:16 p.m. A male suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot before an officer arrived.
A neighbor reported that another resident’s car window was broken on the 500 block of Harrison Street on July 30 at 9 a.m. The victim did not want to file a report about the incident.
SUSPICIOUS: An anonymous caller reported seeing several vehicles stopping at a residence on the 500 block of Cottage Avenue for a short period of time before leaving quickly on July 19 at 7:35 p.m. The complainant stated that four vehicles had done that during a period of 30 minutes.
There was a report of two males fighting in the roadway on the 600 block of S. Downing Street on July 29 at 11:43 p.m. Police located one male who reported that a car full of unknown male subjects had approached him and his girlfriend. One male yelled something at the woman, and she responded. They exchanged words before the car reportedly left.
There was a report of a black vehicle and people yelling on the 600 block of Beverly Drive on July 30 at 1:55 a.m. The vehicle was not located.
There was a report of suspicious juveniles at the Speedway at 1551 Covington Avenue on July 30 at 2 a.m. They were gone upon officer arrival.
There was another suspicious complaint on the 800 block of Washington Avenue on July 30 at 4:57 a.m.
TRESPASSING COMPLAINT: There was a trespassing complaint on the 600 block of W. Ash Street on July 29 at 8:43 p.m. The suspect was reportedly gone upon officer arrival.
ANIMAL COMPLAINT: A woman reported being scratched by a dog inside the Budgetel Inn and Suites on July 29 at 8:53 p.m.
DISTURBANCE: There was a report of a dispute between a male and female on the 200 block of Fourth Street on July 29 at 9:52 p.m. There were no allegations or reported threats of violence.
A husband and wife were reportedly having a dispute over property on the 200 block of Third Street on July 30 at 6 a.m. They “admitted to wrestling for the phone, stated there was no violence,” according to police reports.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS HARASSMENT: A suspect was reportedly sending a Piqua resident harassing texts. It was reported on July 30 at 6:22 a.m. The suspect was warned for telecommunications harassment.
