Covington BOE to meet
COVINGTON —The Covington Board of Education will meet in Regular Session on tonight at 6 p.m. This meeting will be held in the K-8 Media Center, 807 Chestnut Street, Covington.
This is an open meeting and the public is welcome to attend.
Genealogy assistance offered
PIQUA — The Piqua Public Library will offer personalized genealogy assistance on Friday, Nov. 18, from 1:30-5 p.m. Go to the Local History Department and ask for Sharon. Not able to come then? Call and make an appointment. Contact Sharon at (937) 773-6753.
Wing Night planned
TROY — Miami East Athletic Boosters will be holding a Wing Night fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Troy Eagles Camp Ground, located at 2252 Troy Urbana Road. The admission is $10. The meal starts at 6 p.m. Bingo starts at 7:30 p.m. There will also be auction items available from coaching staff as well.
City offices closed Nov. 24-25
PIQUA — The city of Piqua offices at the municipal building, located at 201 West Water St., will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25, for Thanksgiving.
Trash pick-up for Thursday will be moved to Friday, and trash pick-up for Friday will be moved to Saturday.
Library closed for Thanksgiving
PIQUA — The Piqua Public Library will close early on Wednesday, Nov. 23, at 5:30 p.m. and will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24, for Thanksgiving.
Family skate night set
PIQUA — The Western Ohio Thrivent Community will host a “Family Fun Skating Night” to benefit the Bethany Center from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 36 Skate Club, located at 4845 U.S. State Route 36, Piqua.
The public is invited to skate and help pack Christmas meal kits for more than 100 less than fortunate families in the area to have a holiday meal.
The Western Ohio Thrivent Community will provide all meal kit contents (ham or turkey, corn, green beans, potatoes, etc.) and will also pay for skate rental and admission to 36 Skate Club.
