PIQUA — The Piqua Police Department is participating in the first National Coffee with a Cop Day on Friday, Oct. 7, by finding multiple venues to spend one hour making an officer available to listen to residents without any agenda and without the barriers like cruisers, cell phones and radios.

According to a press release from Piqua Chief of Police Bruce Jamison, the officers look forward to the opportunity be make themselves more approachable and have some relaxed conversation with community members, to engage in solving the problems of our community together.

Some morning and afternoon events have been scheduled, and the department will release the locations throughout the week via social media and the city website.

Locations can still be added, Jamison noted. Any business that would like to host an officer for an hour on Friday should contact Chief Jamison at (937) 778-2027 or bjamison@piquaoh.org.
