PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports and Miami County Municipal Court records.
RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY: Scott G. Dean, 41, of Piqua, was charged with fifth-degree felony receiving stolen property and first-degree misdemeanor attempt on July 18 in connection with an incident reported on June 29. According to previous police reports, a resident “reported someone using his credit card online to make fraudulent purchases.” Dean is scheduled to be arraigned on July 27.
THEFT: Medication was reported stolen from a residence on Covington Avenue on July 18 at 8:40 a.m.
A cell phone was reported stolen from Zs Food and Spirits on N. Wayne Street sometime between July 17-18.
Items were reported missing from a residence on Delaware Cir. on July 18 at 11:42 p.m.
A caller reported that an employee had been stealing money from a business inside the Miami Valley Centre Mall between July 17-19.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE: Two tires were slashed on a car on Covington Avenue overnight between July 17-18.
A caller reported that someone had thrown paint on the side of his garage on Miami Street on July 18. There was no suspect information.
A male subject reportedly threw a tire iron at someone else’s vehicle on South street on July 18 at 9:52 p.m. A rear passenger window was reportedly damaged.
A vehicle on New Haven Road was reportedly damaged overnight between July 18-19. The windshield and a front headlight were damaged.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Beppo Uno on W. Water Street reported a customer acting disorderly on July 18 at 5:55 p.m. The customer reportedly did not have money to pay for the meal. A family member responded to pay for the food, and the customer was trespassed from the business.
FRAUD: Sunoco on County Road 25-A reported a customer had used a counterfeit $10 bill to purchase items sometime between July 18-19.
SUSPICIOUS: There was a report of possible shots fired on Covington Avenue on July 20 at 1 a.m. An officer checked the area and did not hear anything sounding like gunshots.
