MIAMI COUNTY — At their meeting on Tuesday, the Miami County Commissioners approved several projects and tried out the county’s new electronic poll books.
The commissioners received a demonstration of the county’s new electronic poll book tablets. Director Beverly Kendall and Deputy Director Eric Morgan brought the tablets and equipment to the board room to show the commissioners how they will be used on Election Day.
The commissioners approved the purchase of 100 Express Poll Tablets from Election Systems and Software on March 29. The tablets cost $169,665, with the Ohio Department of Administrative Services reimbursing the county $119,013 for the purchase.
The board will be utilizing the new poll books during the June 7 special election.
The commissioners also approved a contract on behalf of the Village of Bradford for the completion of improvements to Wise Street. The contract awards $163,966 in Community Development Block Grant funds to PAB Construction.
The commissioners also accepted a quote for the repair of the Fletcher pump station generator. The cost is not to exceed $1,381.
