PIQUA – Students at Washington Primary School had a very special Field Day on Friday thanks to Piqua firefighters, police officers, and a host of volunteers.
In addition to games and activities, students were treated to tours of police cars and a fire engine.
“Sparky” the fire dog was on hand to play with students throughout the day.
As a special treat, second-grade student John Hess was recognized for his efforts in Jump Rope for the Heart. Hess raised more than $530 for the American Heart Association. As a prize, Hess received a ride on a Piqua fire engine.
