This program is for expectant mothers, mothers and tots 0 to five years of age. Participants can socialize, play and exercise during this walk. There may even be craft time. • BUTTERFLY HIKE: The Miami County Park District will hold a butterfly hike from 1-3 p.m. at Stillwater Prairie Reserve, 9750 State Route 185, Covington. Participants will join a park district naturalist out on the trail to learn about butterfly species and the different types of flowering plants. They will also help collect data for the Ohio Lepidoptera’s Butterfly Monitoring Program. • CLASS LUNCH: Piqua Catholic class of 1953 will have class lunch at noon at the Covington Eagles.

• FUNDRAISER: The Troy High School Athletic Hall of Fame will have a fundraiser from 5-9 p.m. at Troy’s BW3’s.

• OPENING DAY: Watch the Red’s opening day game at the American Legion Post 586 in Tipp City and enjoy ball park food for $4. Serving begins at 5 p.m. and includes grilled quarter pound hot dog, French fries, cracker jacks and apple pie. Extra hot dogs available for $1.

• CONCERT: The orchestras at Troy High School, Troy Junior High and Van Cleve will perform with the world famous Barrage at 7 p.m in the high school auditorium. Barrage 8 is a high intensity string ensemble that performs a variety of musical repertoire, including rock, pop, jazz, classical, blues and Barrage original tunes. Tickets are on sale in the high school main office or at the door. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults.

North St. The meal consists of all the fish (deep fried or baked) you can eat along with french fries or macaroni and cheese, coleslaw or applesauce, roll and coffee. • EGG HUNT: Fields of Grace Worship Center will offer its seventh annual community Easter egg hunt — with 25,000 eggs — at 1 p.m. at Covington Community Park. The event is free and open to children through age 11. The Easter bunny will be available for photos, and participants are asked to bring their own collection baskets. Prize baskets and bikes also will be awarded. Parking is available at Finfrock Construction and area streets, and transportation into the park will be available. • QUARTER AUCTION: A quarter auction to support Todd and Niki Voskuhl, who will perform with Piqua’s Dancing with the Stars, will be at 6 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus, Piqua. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Food and beverages will be available.

• EASTER BAZAAR: The Darke County Humane Society will host an Easter bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Paw’s Bingo Hall, 848 Martin St., Greenville. The event will include craft items, baked goods, door prizes and a visit from the Easter Bunny from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• SPAGHETTI SUPPER: A spaghetti dinner, sponsored by the Franklin No. 14 F & AM Lodge, will be from 4 -7 p.m. at the Staunton Grange, North Market Street, Troy, next to the Troy Fire Station. • EGG HUNT: Families with children walking up to age 12 are invited to the largest Easter egg hunt in Miami County with more than 50,000 filled eggs, at 9:30a a.m.on the front lawn of Ginghamsburg Church, 5769 S. County Road 25-A, Tipp City. Come and experience the story of Mary, the mother of Jesus, through a live drama. Kids also enjoy crafts, games, petting zoo with chicks, donkeys and bunnies as well as a visit from the Easter bunny and snacks, hot chocolate and much more. Registration begins at 9:30am the morning of the event with the first egg hunt beginning at 10 a.m. Each hunt zone is broken down into four different age groups: walking-age 2, age 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. • BACKPACKING: The Miami County Park District will host instructor Andy Niekamp at Stillwater Prairie Reserve, 9750 State Route 185 north of Covington as he teaches backpacking to beginners. Join him for a one-night, spring backpacking trip that includes six workshops on backpacking essentials. It is designed for those with little or no backpacking experience. The hike to camp is between 3-4 miles and hike back is 1-2 miles. Class size is limited to 15 with a minimum of six. Children 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Backpacking gear is not included but rental gear is available. Program fee is $95 (includes Saturday dinner). Trip begins at 9 a.m. on April 8 and ends at 10 a.m. on April 9.
