• TAX-AIDE: Tax-Aide will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Troy-Miami County Public Library. No appointment is necessary, and people will be seen on a first come, first served basis. All 2015 taxes are needed.

• FRIDAY DINNERS: The Covington VFW Post 4235, 73 N. High St., will offer dinners, including broasted chicken, New York strip steaks, fish and shrimp and a variety of sandwiches from 5-8 p.m.

• SEAFOOD: The Pleasant Hill VFW Post 6557, 7578 W. Fenner Road, Ludlow Falls, will offer a three-piece fried fish dinner, 21-piece fried shrimp, or a fish/shrimp combo with french fries and coleslaw for $7 from 6-7:30 p.m. Frog legs, when available, for $10.

• PIZZA NIGHT: Pizza night will be offered at 6 p.m. at the Troy Fish & Game.

• FISH FRY: St. Mary Parish will offer a Lenten fish fry from 5-7 p.m. in the cafeteria of Piqua Catholic School, 503 W. North St. The meal consists of all the fish (deep fried or baked) you can eat along with french fries or macaroni and cheese, coleslaw or applesauce, roll and coffee. Soft drinks and desserts are available for an additional charge. Carry-outs are also available. Special pricing is available for seniors and those 12 and under.

• SWISS STEAK: Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, veggie, salad and dessert will be served at the Tipp City American Legion Post 586. Serving begins at 6 p.m. for $8.

• RUMMAGE SALE: A spring rummage sale by the United Methodist Women will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at First Place Christian Center, 16 W. Franklin St., Troy. Many good used items, toys, books and clothing will be for sale. Proceeds will be used for mission work. For more information, call First United Methodist Church at 335-2826.

• PRAYER BREAKFAST: The April Community Men’s Prayer Breakfast will be at 7:30 a.m. at the Lincoln Community Center on Ash Street in Troy. The speaker will be the Rev. Baldwin from Zion Baptist Church.

• SPAGHETTI DINNER: An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner will be offered from 3-7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 622 S. Market St., Troy, to benefit Troy Post 43 baseball. Meals will include spaghetti, salad bar, bread, dessert and drinks for $7.75 for adults and $4.50 for children 13 and younger.

• TAX-AIDE: Tax-Aide will be offered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Miami Valley Centre Mall. Both appointments and a limited number of walk-ins will be accepted. Call (937) 778-0339 for an appointment. All 2015 taxes are needed.

• BREAKFAST: The Miami County Farmers and 4-H Breakfast will be from 7:20-10 a.m. at the Miami County Fairgrounds, Duke Lungard Building, 650 N. County Road 25-A, Troy. The meal will be $5 per person, $2 for ages 4-10 and free for those 3 and under. The menu includes pancakes, sausage and yogurt along with coffee, milk and juice. Proceeds will benefit the Miami County 4-H program.

• KITE FLY: The Miami County Park District will hold its annual “Kreature Kite Fly” sponsored by the Park District VIPs from 1-3 p.m. at Stillwater Prairie Reserve, 9750 State Route 185, Covington. Participants are invited to test their kite flying skills at this fun program. There will be a kite building workshop for kids of all ages throughout the course of the event. Awards will be given in a variety of categories and the VIPs will provide light refreshments. This is an event for the entire family. • ICE RACING: The World Championship ICE Racing Series will perform at 7:30 p.m. at Hobart Arena, Troy. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets and more information available at www.hobartarena.com.

Market St., Troy, for their monthly Share-A-Meal from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. They will be serving homemade breakfast casserole, biscuits, fruit slush, juice, milk and coffee. Carry-outs will be available at 12:30 p.m., as quantities last. This program is one of the ways of reaching out to the community by providing warm nourishing meals to anyone wishing to participate, while giving an opportunity to socialize with others. • KARAOKE: Enjoy Karaoke at the Tipp City American Legion Post 586 beginning at 7 p.m.

• EGG HUNT: Indian Hills 4-H Club, 8212 W. Lauver Road, Pleasant Hill, will offer an Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m. for those 12 and younger.

• CHAPEL CHOIR: The Troy Mayors’ Concert Board will bring the Capital University Chapel Choir to Troy at 7 p.m. at The First United Methodist Church. Under the direction of Dr. Lynda Hasseler, this prestigious choir is considered a top choral ensemble that has made state, national and international appearances and has earned gold medals in Mixed Choir and Musical Sacra competitions. The Chancel Bells, under the direction of David Pinkerton of Troy, will also perform in the presentation. The concert is nondenominational.

• PET ESTATE PLANNING: The Miami Valley Bird Club & Rescue will welcome attorney William House as a speaker at 2 p.m. at Nashville United Church of Christ, 4540 W. State Route 571, West Milton. • MOVE AND GROOVE: Join staff at 6:30 p.m. to ”Move and Groove” at the Troy-Miami County Public Library. Children and caregivers will enjoy 30 minutes of various activities which include music and movement; this program is for children ages 2-6. This program is for expectant mothers, mothers and tots 0 to five years of age. Participants can socialize, play and exercise during this walk. There may even be craft time. • BUTTERFLY HIKE: The Miami County Park District will hold a butterfly hike from 1-3 p.m. at Stillwater Prairie Reserve, 9750 State Route 185, Covington. Participants will join a park district naturalist out on the trail to learn about butterfly species and the different types of flowering plants. They will also help collect data for the Ohio Lepidoptera’s Butterfly Monitoring Program. • CLASS LUNCH: Piqua Catholic class of 1953 will have class lunch at noon at the Covington Eagles.

• FUNDRAISER: The Troy High School Athletic Hall of Fame will have a fundraiser from 5-9 p.m. at Troy’s BW3’s.

• OPENING DAY: Watch the Red’s opening day game at the American Legion Post 586 in Tipp City and enjoy ball park food for $4. Serving begins at 5 p.m. and includes grilled quarter pound hot dog, French fries, cracker jacks and apple pie. Extra hot dogs available for $1.

• CONCERT: The orchestras at Troy High School, Troy Junior High and Van Cleve will perform with the world famous Barrage at 7 p.m in the high school auditorium. Barrage 8 is a high intensity string ensemble that performs a variety of musical repertoire, including rock, pop, jazz, classical, blues and Barrage original tunes. Tickets are on sale in the high school main office or at the door. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults.

Tuesday

• DINNER: The Sons of the American Legion Post 43 will be serving pizzas, calzones and wings every Tuesday from 5:30-8 p.m.

• FILM SERIES: The Film Series at Hayner will continue at 7:30 p.m. with “The Long, Long Trailer,” starring Lucille Ball. Newlyweds hitch up their camper and set off on a honeymoon with disastrous adventures.

• ADULT HIKE: The Miami County Park District will hold an adult exploration hike from 9-11 a.m. at Hobart Urban Nature Preserve, 1400 Tyrone Road, Troy. Join park district naturalist Sassafras Susan to discover the birds, plants and trees across the county, one park at a time. These hikes are a great opportunity to get out in nature and learn together. Walks last about two hours and are not strenuous or fast-paced. Due to weather, trails may be wet. Wear appropriate shoes.
