• FISH AND CHICKEN: Fish and/or chicken tenders, french fries, hush puppies, coleslaw and dessert will be offered at the Tipp City American Legion Post 586, Serving begins at 6 p.m. for $8.

• CHICKEN FRY: The Pleasant Hill VFW Post 6557, 7578 W. Fenner Road, Ludlow Falls, will offer a three-piece chicken dinner with french fries and macaroni salad for $7 from 6-7:30 p.m. Chicken livers are also available.

• FISH AND SHRIMP: Fish and shrimp will be offered at 6 p.m. at the Troy Fish & Game.

• MOVIE NIGHT: Take a trip to “Toontown” at 7:30 p.m. at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, 301 W. Main St., Troy, will present the 1988 animated film, “Who Framed Roger Rabbit.” This free and open to the public showing includes an introduction to the film, café style seating, popcorn and soft drinks. • FISH FRY: St. Mary Parish will offer a Lenten fish fry from 5-7 p.m. in the cafeteria of Piqua Catholic School, 503 W. North St. The meal consists of all the fish (deep fried or baked) you can eat along with french fries or macaroni and cheese, coleslaw or applesauce, roll and coffee. Soft drinks and desserts are available for an additional charge. Carry-outs are also available. Special pricing is available for seniors and those 12 and under.

• COFFEE AND COLOR: Join staff at the Troy-Miami County Public Library for coffee and coloring. Take a stress break and enjoy a cup of coffee while coloring away the day’s anxiety at 1 p.m.; the coloring pages, colored pencils and coffee will be provided. • SPAGHETTI DINNER: An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner will be offered from 3-7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 622 S. Market St., Troy, to benefit Troy Post 43 baseball. Meals will include spaghetti, salad bar, bread, dessert and drinks for $7.75 for adults and $4.50 for children 13 and younger.

• PYBSA SIGN UPS: Piqua Youth Baseball and Softball Association sign ups will be from 1-4:30 p.m. at the Miami Valley Centre Mall near JCPenney. Sign ups are for children in T-Ball to Majors (CCC). Fees range from $45-75. Another sign up date will be 1-4 p.m. March 5.

• KARAOKE: Karaoke will be offered at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Post 586 in Tipp City.

• TENDERLOINS: The Pleasant Hill VFW Post 6557, 7578 W. Fenner Road, Ludlow Falls, will offer pork tenderloin sandwich with french fries from 6-8 p.m. for $6.

• TACO NIGHT: Taco night will be offered at 6 p.m. at the Troy Fish & Game. Bootleg will perform at 7:30 p.m.

• WII PARTY: Compete in fun games on the big screen at the Milton-Union Public Library Saturday from 1-3 p.m. This event is open to all ages. The library also has board games, Minecraft and snacks.

• SHARE-A-MEAL: First United Church of Christ’s Share-A-Meal will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 120 S. Market St., Troy. The menu will include chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, vegetable, dessert and a beverage. Carry-outs we be offered at 12:30 p.m., as quantities last. This program is one of our ways of reaching out to the community by providing warm nourishing meals to anyone wishing to participate, while giving an opportunity to socialize with others. Use the Canal Street entrance where the church is handicapped accessible.

• CHILI COOK-FF: A chili cook-off and silent auction by the Tipp-Monroe Optimist Club begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church at Third and Walnut streets, Tipp City. The $5 admission entitles includes tasting all the of the chili, a vote for your favorite and to bid on the many items in the silent auction. Awards will be given to the top three chilis. Proceeds help the Optimists support the youth programs in Tipp and Monroe Township.

• 4-H KICK-OFF: The Miami County 4-H Kick-Off event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Miami Valley Centre Mall, Piqua. Youth, ages 5-18, can participate in 4-H and may choose from more than 200 projects. There will be opportunities to speak with current members and volunteer leaders and learn about 4-H camp, trips, the fair and 4-H clubs. Youth will be able to visit animals, and create “make and take” craft projects.

Sunday

• PYBSA SIGN UPS: Piqua Youth Baseball and Softball Association sign ups will be from 1-4:30 p.m. at the Miami Valley Centre Mall near JCPenney. Sign ups are for children in T-Ball to Majors (CCC). Fees range from $45-75.

• PAINTING EVENT: From 1-4 p.m. at Brukner Nature Center, participants will paint a portrait American robins on 12-by-12 canvas. A BNC naturalist will provide a an engaging introduction to the natural history of these beautiful woodland creatures, then Lisa Bauer of the Mayflower Arts Center will guide you as you paint. This opportunity is $35 per person, ages 13 to adult, and includes refreshments and all materials. Registration and payment due by March 4 (cash or check only). • BLUEGRASS: Bluegrass, with Pinnacle Ridge, will be offered beginning at 2 p.m. at the American Legion Post 586, 377 N. 3rd St., Tipp City. The open stage jam has free admission. Food and refreshments will be available.

• BREAKFAST: The Tipp City American Legion Post 586 will breakfast, including eggs your way, sausage, bacon, toast, biscuits, sausage gravy, pancakes, waffles, french toast, home fries, cinnamon rolls, fruit and juices, for $7 from 8-11 a.m.

• SEMINAR: An educational seminar, along with desserts, sponsored by StoryPoint, Troy, will be from 1-2 p.m. at the Vandalia Senior Citizens Center, 21 Tionda Drive South, Vandalia. Marla Fair, an employee of the Johnston Farm, Piqua, will present the life of Mrs. Rachel Hoping Johnston who left the ease and refinement of Philadelphia for the Ohio frontier along with her husband. • BUDDY READING: Buddy reading at the Milton-Union Public Library provides a volunteer with whom a student can read. The goal is to help students reach their A.R. goals and practice reading. An adult or high school student will be able to help your child practice reading. The program will be every Monday until the end of the school year. Belle the therapy dog will visit at 6:30 p.m.

• HIKE: The Miami County Park District will hold an adult exploration hike from 9-11 a.m. at Stillwater Prairie Reserve, 9750 State Route 185 in Covington. Join park district naturalist Sassafras Susan to discover the birds, plants and trees across the county, one park at a time. These hikes are a great opportunity to get out in nature and learn together. Walks last about two hours and are not strenuous or fast-paced. Due to weather, trails may be wet. Wear appropriate shoes. • KNITTERS NEEDED: Cancer Companion knitters will be meeting at Lion & Lamb Yarn Shop, 6 E. Main St., Troy, from 2-4 p.m. Participants will be knitting hats and lap covers for cancer patients. • MY BOOK AND ME: My Book and Me is a program where kids from kindergarten and up get to create their own books with illustrations. The program will take place every Thursday night in March at 6:30 p.m. at the Milton-Union Public Library. Each week a new theme and writing prompt will be presented. At the end of the month each student’s five short stories will be compiled, bound together in a book, and put on display to share with the community in April.

• MOVIE NIGHT: Join staff for another fun-filled evening with friends at 6 p.m. and watch the latest Disney movie “Moana,” at the Oakes-Beitman Memorial Library in Pleasant Hill. “Moana” is rated PG and runs for 1 hour and 52 minutes. • OPENING RECEPTION: An opening reception will be held from5-6:45 p.m. at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, Troy, for the exhibit “Arte Cubano 2015,” a special art studio exhibition of Cuban art, including contemporary paintings from Baracoa, Cuba. Master artist and instructor Guillermo Orlando Piedra Labañino leads this group of talented artists in promoting Baracoan culture in the communities surrounding Baracoa. The exhibit will be open through April 30.

• SOUPER WALK: The Miami County Park District will hold its Souper-Walk program at 7 p.m. at Lost Creek Reserve, 2385 E. State Route 41, Troy. Enjoy a guided, nighttime hike through the woods followed by a warm crackling fire and hot cup of homemade soup. Hikers are encouraged to bring a can of soup for donation to a local food pantry. • LEAVE NO TRACE: The Miami County Park District in partnership with Outdoor Adventure Connections will hold an overnight, two-day Leave No Trace training program on March 11 and 12 at Lost Creek Reserve, 2385 E. State Route 41, Troy. Participants will learn about the seven principles of back country Leave No Trace. • SCHOLARSHIP DINNER: Olivet Chapter No. 538 and Mt. Olivet Lodge No. 226 will offer its fifth annual scholarship dinner 4-6 p.m. at the Christiansburg Masonic Temple, 203 N. Main St. Proceeds will go to provide one scholarship to the fifth graduating senior from Graham High School and one from Miami East High School. Meals will be a free will offering.

• BREAKFAST: Breakfast is open to the public at the Tipp City American Legion Post 586. Serving will be from 8-11 a.m. A full breakfast is made to order for $7, children under 10 eat for $3.
