• FAMILY CONCERT: The free annual family concert at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center will begin at 7:30 p.m. with the Goree Drum and Dance Group. Under the direction of Balla and Serrita Sy, this family concert will begin with a performance of dance and drum and finish with a hands-on drum workshop so kids can experience the power and excitement of these instruments. The group focuses primarily on West African drum and dance style with an emphasis on honoring the culture and history of their music through education.
