PIQUA — At 7 p.m., Monday, June 9, at the Piqua Public Library will welcome local author Ozzie Davis as she shares excerpts from her latest book “Fuzzwald’s Three Day Weekend.” In addition to reading from her work, copies will be available for purchase and signing.
Author Ozzie Davis was born in Piqua. She has been writing since she was twelve, when a young college student visited her school in search of children’s poetry. He chose a poem she wrote entitled, “Salt & Pepper.” Since that early beginning, she has written many pieces and has been published in newspapers and compilations, for example: Troy Daily News, Newspapers in Education, Eber & Weins, Eternal Heartland Highway 80 (Voices of Life’s Sound), League of American Poets, Expressions 1 (Not a Fairy Tale), and Ely’s, Forever Spoken (Our Loss is Heaven’s Gain).
Davis has been nominated several times for International Poet of the Year and is the winner of numerous awards in Song of the Year. Her compilation of Blues, Americana, and Folk songs entitled “Ride On My Wings” was released in 2012.
In 2009, Davis’s book “Froggy’s Patience” the first in The Adventures of Frog Man series, was picked up by Tate Publishing in Mustang, Oklahoma. Her most recent series, The World of Fuzzwald & Friends, beginning with “Fuzzwald’s Three Day Weekend” was released January.
“I donate one hundred percent of her proceeds from The Adventures of Frog Man to Shriner’s, St. Jude’s, and Children’s Hospitals,” Davis reports. “A large portion from The World of Fuzzwald & Friends series will be donated to the Wounded Warriors Program. I want to reach the world through my writing and help as many people as I can along the way. ” Visit the author’s website at Ozzie D Music & Children’s Books: www.ozzied411.com for more information about her work.
