Union Twp. man arrest for growing pot

UNION TWP. — A West Milton man remains behind bars on charges of growing marijuana at his residence on Rangeline Road.

Miami County Sheriff’s Office deputies placed Todd E. Fisher, 49, of West Milton, in custody and he was incarcerated into the Miami County Jail without incident. He was charged with fifth degree felony of possessing criminal tools, fourth degree felony of marijuana cultivation and first degree felony of possessing weapons under weapons disability.

Fisher remains incarcerated on a $100,000 cash bond.

According to a press release, Miami County Sheriff’s Office detectives and deputies executed a search warrant on Thursday at 7313 S. Rangeline Road in Union Township. Officials located a sophisticated marijuana growing operation within the residence.

Deputies seized items including marijuana plants, cultivation materials and a .45 caliber pistol. Fisher was under a weapons disability from a prior felony conviction. At the time of the search warrant, children also were present.

Fisher also is the owner of A to Z Remodeling.

Fisher has a preliminary court hearing at 1 p.m. May 1 with Judge Elizabeth Gutmann presiding.
