TROY — International chamber music ensemble Tutti Solisti will perform a Drawing Room Concert at 7:30 p.m. April 8 at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, 301 W. Main St., Troy. This concert is free and open to the public.
Performing at the concert will be Miriam Kramer on violin and Deborah Netanel on cello.
Kramer returns to the Hayner from London, where she won the United Kingdom’s Jewish Performer of the Year award in 1995. Recently, The New York Times reviewed a Lincoln Center performance, calling Kramer “a gifted young violinist who proved a soulful performer showing flair and temperament, fine sensitivity and warmth.”
Netanel is a well-respected cellist, composer and arranger. She holds degrees from the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, Rubin Academy of Music (Jerusalem), Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Jeffrey Kurz of the Record Journal offered the following praise of her performance: “Expressionist and haunting, filled with passages of serene beauty … gave the work a kind of vibrant tension.”
