TROY — A man who allegedly raped a female child several times more than a decade ago finally faced a judge at his arraignment Tuesday morning in Miami County Common Pleas Court.

Mark D. Heisey, 54, of Pleasant Hill, entered not guilty pleas to three first-degree felony charges of rape that stem from a 14-year-old rape case.

The victim of the alleged rape came forward to authorities at the Miami County Sheriff’s Office recently, which started the rape investigation into Heisey’s past.

Heisey allegedly committed the rapes more than a decade ago when the victim, now an adult in her 20s, was a juvenile and between the ages of 8 and 14, authorities said.

According to sheriff’s Chief Deputy Dave Duchak, Heisey admitted to the sex crimes, which began in 2000 and continued into subsequent years.

A Feb. 18 pre-trial conference has been set for Heisey.

Meanwhile, Heisey remains behind bars at the Miami County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
